WHAT IS IT: Team race as a Fundraiser for New Eden Pregnancy Care Services

• New Eden provides resources for new single mothers and for families in crisis

WHEN: 

• 11/5/2022
• Check in from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Final race details announcement: 11:45 a.m.
• Race starts: 12:00 noon

WHERE:

• CHECK IN AND STARTING LINE: At the location of our future gym, Athlos Training Grounds 40.04582313550422, -107.90899342566127 (copy and paste coordinates into Google Maps, as our location still does not have an official address)
• FINISH LINE, FANTASY TEAM GAME, AND POST-RACE CELEBRATION: Smoking River Brewing company at 101 E Market St, Meeker, CO 81641
• PARKING: participants and spectators can park at either location

EVENT DETAILS:

• Two divisions
  • Competitive - competing for cash prizes
    • Teams of 2
    • There are limited slots, 10 teams of 2 for men and 10 teams of 2 for women, so SIGN UP SOON!
      • 1st place prize - $300
      • 2nd place prize - $200
      • 3rd place prize - $100
    • Carrying one sandbag between the two of them
      • 80 lbs for men
      • 40 lbs for women
      • No rules on the carrying technique except for the bag can only be carried by the team members w/o mechanical help (ie no straps, putting it on carts, using vehicles, etc)
      • The team must cross the finish line together, with both members touching the sandbag as they cross the line
  • Non-competitive
    • Unlimited slots​​​​​​​
    • No prize
    • Teams of two
      • Can be male/male, female/female, or co-ed 
      • Team must carry a 3 foot rope together, and both team members need to have a hold on the rope throughout the entire race.  They are allowed to switch arms, grips, etc. as desired at any time, so long as they run or walk together while both holding the rope.
• Course details
  • To be announced on race day at 11:45 a.m.
  • Distance will range between 6 and 8 miles and will include mountain trail
  • Race will be held in any weather condition except for lightning storm 
• Event fees
  • Competitive division: $100 per team
  • Non-competitive division: $80 per team
  • 80% of fees go to New Eden, 20% goes towards helping cover cost of event
• Fantasy team game
  • To be held at brewery for friends, family, and spectators to bet on winning team
  • Minimum amount to join fantasy team game - $20 cash
  • Betting will commence at the start of the race and betting will close at 12:30 p.m.
  • 50% of cash pot goes to New Eden
  • 50% goes to winner of the fantasy game (or split amongst winners if there are multiple winners)

WHAT TO BRING:

• The race will be held outside, on mountain trails, in November - so bring clothes and shoes for any weather condition
• There will be two aid stations with snacks and waters, but feel free to bring a camel pack for yourself
