Join us in this fundraiser benefiting The Out Foundation - Their mission is to remove the barriers that block LGBTQ+ individuals' access and participation in fitness, health and wellness to ensure their success. They are dedicated to nurturing, empowering, and celebrating LGBTQ+ bodies and minds to guarantee that our community thrives.
Come test your CrossFit Total numbers! The CrossFit Total consists of three lifts: the shoulder press, the back squat, and the deadlift. Athletes will have 30 minutes total to find their max in those three lifts. All levels are welcome, however participating athletes should be familiar with all three lifts as there won't be instruction for anyone brand new to lifting. Don't feel like going to your max? Don't worry! Just come and lift for a good cause!
This event will run in heats - heat start times and assignments will be announced a few days before the event.
Is this cause near and dear to your heart? We encourage you to join our team through The OUT Foundation and ask your friends and family to donate! Donations can be made to the team or to individuals on the team. Individuals who raise over $2,500 will receive an exclusive barbell from The OUT Foundation! After the CrossFit Total heats, stick around for the drag performance featuring Jenayah De Rosario. Jenayah is a Drag Queen Entertainer from Western Mass, and also the host of Drag Bingo at the Divine Theater. The performance will be at 3:30pm - everyone is welcome to attend even if you didn't come to watch the lifting. The performance is FREE but there will be a donation jar for The Out Foundation.
We will also be holding a raffle with lots of great prizes to be announced as we get closer to the event. Raffle tickets will be available all day and will be pulled following the drag performance.
This program is partially funded by a grant from the Holyoke Local Cultural Council, a program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Q. Can my family or friends come cheer me on?
A. Of course! Bring your squad! Spectators can come for free!
Q. Will there be a warm-up area?
A. Yes, we will have an area available for mobilizing and warm-ups.
Q. Are there going to be prizes for the athletes that lift the most?
A. No - this fundraiser event is an opportunity to test yourself against your own numbers. Since each athlete is at a different point in their lifting journey, we want to celebrate each individual's accomplishments! Make sure you ring our PR bell if you get a new PR!
Q. What should I wear?
A. Wear your favorite Pride shirt, wear a fancy prom dress, or just wear your normal workout clothes. We are here to have fun, fundraise, and celebrate Pride. Just please be sure that your clothing and footwear is safe and will not hinder your lifting.
