Beginners Guide to 5k

** COVID-19 UPDATE!  We are moving the entire program ONLINE!  It will still be 4 weeks long, and we will send 1 video lecture, complete will skill drills, technique work, and lessons each week.  You will also have homework (workouts) to complete throughout the week to get you ready for a 5k!  

The social distancing we are experiencing right now is a great time to lace up a pair of running shoes and get some fresh air around your neighborhood! **

March 29

April 5

April 12

April 19

The goal is to race in the Simsbury River Run April 26th, if interested. 

This is a training program, and does NOT include a ticket for the race.  

At CFS you will learn proper running technique, pacing, nutrition, and even have a lesson on running shoes 101! Each class will have a lesson, a warmup, a workout, and a cooldown. Classes are 1 hour long. This is designed as a beginner level course, but all levels of runners are welcome!  If you've ran a bunch of 5ks, 10ks, or more, but have never had instruction, you will find a lot of value in this!  


CrossFit Simsbury Members - $20 per class - $80 total

Non-Members - $25 per class - $100 total


My friend and I just ran our first 5k after taking your class and would just like to thank you.  We did awesome....I placed ninth in my division and my friend was right there with me. We did fast feet, pulled from hamstrings, ran tall and rocked our breathing.  I used your advice on properly eating and hydrating before and I felt great.  I also had my fleet feet shoes on and everything felt awesome.  I've been getting strong at CFS and just felt so prepared. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us....it really made such a difference :)
